great job irving, you make me proud.
Tonight, as I was packing up all my belongings to move to Irvine, I came face to face with a subtle reminder about the importance of this coming year! So, like I said, I was collecting a hodgepodge of things to bring with me to irvine. For just a quick illustration, I’m going to list out a few things of what I brought; I brought two cartons of organic soymilk, a bag of half eaten multi-grain cheerios, a vase with a freshly cut plant on the side, a comforter, a down blanket, 3 pairs of shoes, a dirty hamper, a large dufflebag filled with clean and semi-clean clothes, my Nintendo DS, a trash bin, a bottle of 100% Aloe gel, a letter from my CCV, my ESV study bible and a harry potter book I checked out from the San Dimas Public Library… the 4th one. An entire collection of very essential things that make my life more enjoyable, and that makes me… well, me. I took a good long look at all the things that I had organized, packed, and even concealed, and I couldn’t help but compare all these, I guess some could even say, “random” personal possessions, to our new and continuing Miles Militis Homegroup. Just take a little gander at us; we are so different. SO different. Some of us just recently graduated, a reasonable good lot of us still go to UCI, and even a few that don’t attend UCI, but here we are as one body; we are united and working together for four simple goals that rhyme: to put God as our soule desire, to fight on with holy fire, to move our hearts as one, and to lead the lost to the Son. These hopes that our previous leaders dreamed and put into action for us are all in motion, and its our turn to do the same. Though it may seem as if some of us are like the fresh unopened carton of soymilk, or the bottle of 100% aloe gel, OR even the half worn pair of boxers, and might seem not to go well with one another individually, the ultimate product is what matters the most; to make the owner pleased. That’s our job. It’s to please God and everything that falls underneath the meaning of pleasing Him. That’s why we are all here in Irvine at this very moment in time, with this group of people; it’s for that very reason. So yeah, I was totally reminded of this verse in Isaiah that really gave me peace over this coming year. I hope you guys read it, meditate on it, and truly believe this promise that God has given us. Okay, its time for me to go to bed. William Bear Ma KO’d on my roommate’s bed. I should go cover him with a blanket. Goodnight.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…”
